The municipality of Březová-Oleško lies on the right bank of the Vltava. It is about 22 km south of central Prague. The municipality had 1,457 residents in 2025.

The municipality comprises two parts, Březová and Oleško; the first written record of both dates to 1310. In Oleško, by the Záhořanský stream, stands Maškův mlýn, with its millrace. Above Oleško, the railway runs through the Vltava valley via the Skochovický and Libřický tunnels, which date from 1881.
